THE OPPORTUNITY

The Strategic Media Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, development, buying and implementation of client media plans consistent with the media and digital objectives strategies of our clients.


You will be required to play a key strategic role in client relationships, work closely with all internal team members, and represent our business to the highest standards in the wider media industry, where they are well-connected and respected.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITY

  1. Primarily responsible for day-to-day preparation, management and implementation of client media plans.
  2. Present and deliver customer strategies.

  3. Deliver valuable insights to clients to help them better understand and drive better performance from their digital campaigns.

  4. Develop client or internal briefs into highly effective, workable and successful media activities to drive the success of the client’s preferred outcomes.

  5. Manage all ongoing, constant analysis and interpretation of media/digital research and data, including target audience dynamics.

  6. Focus on executing and reporting strategic campaigns across different platforms (e.g.Facebook, Youtube and Google Display).

  7. Prepare and present recommendations, negotiate placements and rates, ensuring all buy changes and optimisations are approved, updated and implemented.

  8. Ensure all deadlines are met and budgets are managed effectively for media and digital spend.

  9. Provide advice and influence clients if spend and/or time frames should be adjusted, or the strategic direction should change.

  10. Prepare, review and present pre-buy and post-buy analysis, researched updates and competitive reporting needs.

  11. Use strong digital analytical skills to create a deep understanding of the data available and drive insights to improve business performance.

  12. Work with internal teams to provide the highest level of client service, coordinating the resources needed to service and deliver projects on time and on budget.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

You must have a background in digital & traditional media, and a minimum of 5 years industry experience in the NZ market. In addition to these qualifications, we prefer candidates who have the following skills:

  • Persuasive, transparent, and confident.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and budgetary frameworks.

  • Working knowledge of Pegasus, Symphony, Comscore, DV360, AdWords, Google Analytics, Roy Morgan, Panorama, Neilsen and other media/digital/metrics software.

  • Well-networked and respected in the media industry.
